ANALYSIS OF UKRAINIAN APPAREL INDUSTRY INTERNATIONAL
COMPETITIVENESS USING PORTER’S DIAMOND

We show the relevance of the study, the connection with the latest publications and set the
tasks and lists of methods by which the work is performed. We highlighted apparel industry of Ukraine. We analysed the main indicators characterizing this industry. We analysed international competitiveness of the industry using M. Porter’s Diamond following determinants: factor conditions (human resources, natural resources, financial resources, technology, infrastructure), a cluster of supporting industries (including textile and chemical industry, transportation, engineering, trade ) domestic demand and competition in the domestic market. The distribution of foreign orders for Ukrainian garment factories was set. Following research contains scientific novelty and proves theoretical and practical significance of the results. We formulated a list of practical recommendations to improve the international competitiveness of the garment industry in Ukraine.
