CURRENT TRENDS AND PROBLEMS OF OPTICAL MARKET DEVELOPMENT
IN UKRAINE AND ABROAD

This article overviews the current state of the optical market of Ukraine and the world
market. Problems, trends and development prospects of current market are identified. The biggest  producers of optical products in the world and Ukrainian distributors are named. It provides the definition of the pharmaceutical industry, which includes the optical market. Information is analysed by the following product groups: safety glasses, frames and contact lenses. Classification of glasses according to their setting and properties is given. Ukrainian products and its main producer are analysed. It also highlights the leaders of the exports and imports of the world optical markets. The dynamics of commodity turnover of world optical market is given. It is shown that a sale of glasses is more profitable comparatively with contact lenses. The information given by Ministry of Health of Ukraine, regard needs of weak sight correction in Ukraine. The factors of growth and number of factors that prevent rapid growth of the optical market of Ukraine were stated. The methodical recommendations are given in relation to the improvement of situation at the optical market of Ukraine.
